Buttons & Zippers Bilingual Edition*

Meet Little Mike and his cousin, Joshua: they have engaged in a fierce race. One night, the little boys were getting ready to go to sleep when they decide to have a race to find out who could get into their pajamas quicker. Little Mike’s pants and shirts both have buttons on them. Joshua’s clothes have zippers. They decide to battle it out every night to see who will win. Off they go! Little Mike is quicker and finishes putting them on first. At the end, they both win. But little Mike wants to race again. They decide to go to the master in order to see if they can race again.

Maria, the sassy granddaughter with a spark in her eye and a challenge on her lips! She confidently suggests a different approach to her mother, revealing her cleverness by claiming she knows a secret that can outsmart both buttons and zippers. With a mischievous grin, she poses a challenge to the two boys— even if they haven’t heard her yet! Maria is ready to show everyone that sometimes, the best solutions come from a bit of creativity and a lot of sass!

Buttons and Zippers is a picture book for beginner readers. I was inspired by my first apprenticeship (job) and son to write this book. This story reflects the day-to-

day life of many Pre-K to third graders, even adults, in their struggle to surpass their opponents.

Note: This 2nd version of the book is bilingual (English/Spanish). Few paragraphs and a new image has been added. I remain committed to help our children, our future leaders. Also, Bottons & Zippers (Bilingual Ed.) is part of book series. The next sequel should in December, 2024. The last one, should be out at the beginning of February, 2025.
